When you get lemons you make lemonade!
Looks like the oil is reaching Pensacola Beach, Florida today
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_oil_spill_florida
So who knows how long this will go on.
When you get lemons you make lemonade!
In the meantime we have a great camp in Venice Louisiana, with overnight accomodations and home-cooked meals available for long-term lease by clean-up crews or news media.
Available because all the fishing charters have been cancelled, the duck hunting season ain't looking good either, and we are not bringing our family down to Venice for fishing or Grand Isle either because of the oil spill, and if you are wondering if it is safe there the answer is no, for tourists.
After Hurricane Katrina some of the tour companies in New Orleans began doing disaster tours, looks like Venice may be another disaster tour destination if that is your cup of tea!
When you get lemons you make lemonade!
If you need accomodations in Venice, or a licensed boat captain to show you the disaster, give us a call.

In the meantime we have a safe environment for you to visit in Lafayette, Louisiana because we are almost 200 miles from the immediate dangers associated with the oil spill. Hopefully, they will get a handle on containing the oil spill and better yet capping the well so nature can heal itself.
But for now anyway we are too far away from the oil spill for it to affect us personally as a health threat to humans and wildlife.
If that status changes, I will notify everyone on my blogs.

Springtime Is Redfish Time
It is time to get the boat in the water,
put a shrimp or mullet on the hook,
and advise the redfish that we know they can't resist!
My friend Ed will peel your eyelids back when he is out playing with his toys
And if you don't have a friend with a boat to take you fishing like I do, you can hire a guide and at the end of the day you will feel like you have made a new friend.
